YOO is inspired by one of nature’s most fascinating innovators—the Leaf Sheep!

Let’s take a deep dive into this extraordinary sea slug. Scientifically known as Costasiella kuroshimae, it thrives 9 to 18 meters deep in the Indo-Pacific, where it lives and feeds on Avrainvillea algae. But here’s where things get fascinating—it doesn’t just consume algae; it repurposes their chloroplasts, keeping them alive within its own cells to photosynthesise like a plant.

This rare ability allows it to generate energy from sunlight, making the Leaf Sheep one of the few animals to tap into the power of photosynthesis.

Just as the Leaf Sheep uses chloroplasts for survival, we harness their power as bioreactors, producing high-quality, sustainable growth factors to transform the future of food and health.

I was born near a coral reef in the Bali warm waters. My birthday is on October 29 (a slug never reveal its age!) I am tiny marine creature with a big heart and an even bigger mission. I’m known for my vibrant personality and dedication to environmental advocacy.
